FESM festa of accounts Sunday
The Festa do Espiritu Santo is staging their annual Festa of Accounts on Sunday, Aug. 30, at noon.  

Sopas, traditional meat, bread and cabbage, will be served at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. to everyone present.  Auction of Portguese sweet bread, coffee cakes and other donated items will be at 2 p.m.  The evening will conclude with a dance by Erminio Lemos from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The outgoing president is Manuel Bento and the new incoming President is Carlos Gaspar, who will be announcing the new committee for the 2009-2010 term.

Delicato Vineyards home winemaking
Delicato Vineyards will be holding its home winemaking workshop once again this year for those just beginning or those wanting to hone their skills.

Richard Foote, the Tasting Room Manager, has over 20 years of experience in the craft and will share with you the basics of home winemaking.

Choose from the following two dates to attend:
•Saturday, Aug. 29, from 2 to 4 p.m.

•Saturday, Sept. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m.

It takes place at Delicato Vineyards Tasting Room, Highway 99 and French Camp Road, four miles north of Manteca.

This is a complimentary workshop. Class size is limited, so make your reservations early by calling Delicato Vineyards at 824-3600.

Place of Refuge flea market & fair
The Place of Refuge Church will be hosting their first annual parking lot flea market and fair.
There will be individual garage sales, rummage sales, expos, food vendors, and retail vendors.

The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 29. Gates will open at 7 a.m. and stay open until 4 p.m.
Vendor spaces are available at $25 for a 20x20 parking space.

Calla 4-H Club enrollment night
The Calla 4-H Club will be holding its annual enrollment tonight  from 6 to 8, in the New Haven School cafeteria, 14600 S. Austin Road.

The annual enrollment fees are $32 for members and $6 for leaders. Returning and prospective members are asked to bring a parent or guardian.

The Calla 4-H offers a number of projects, including community service, rabbits, poultry, food & nutrition, arts & crafts, archery, and large animal projects.

The first community club meeting is planned for Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m. in the New Haven cafeteria.

The local 4-H is open to youngsters age 5 and not yet 19 as of Jan. 1, 2010.

The 4-H Youth Development Program’s goals are to help youngsters develop citizenship, leadership and life skills.
