LODI — Cars from 1970 and older, including two rare Microcars used as models for Pixar Studio’s Cars 2 movie characters, will be on display at the Vintage Car Show to be held Saturday, June 18, at the San Joaquin County Historical Museum in Micke Grove Park south of Lodi.

The car show is the museum’s first fundraiser to “Raise the Barn.” The barn is the new educational building planned to supply needed classroom and storage space for the museum youth education programs.

The car show begins at 10 a.m. and will conclude at 3 p.m. Admission is $5 per adult, and children under 12 are admitted free. There is a $5 parking fee entering Micke Grove Park.

This showcase of vintage cars is not just about classy automobiles. There will be other things to grab your interest. A poker walk will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. among the museum buildings. The cost is $5 per hand.

“Raise the Barn” T-shirts will be on sale for $10 each. Food will be available for purchase from Royce Farms BBQ.

Entries for classic cars and hot rods to display are still being accepted. Entry fee is $25 per car.

The barn is a new museum Docent Council project to construct an educational building as a permanent home for the youth programs including Farm to Fork, Museum Youth Camp, classroom and meeting space, and to help with storage needs for the Valley Days and Pioneer School programs.
