SAN JOSE . (AP) — The California Highway Patrol says federal aviation officials have been called to investigate after a small plane made an emergency landing on a major Northern California highway Saturday night.

The San Jose Mercury News reports (http://bayareane.ws/1GtgpVA) four people walked away without injuries after the plane made its landing on U.S. Highway 101 south of San Jose.

Officials say the landing forced the CHP to shut down southbound lanes for a brief time. The lanes reopened after a tow truck removed the plane from the highway.

No other information about the incident was available Sunday.
