MODESTO — The Urban Sheep Yarn Boutique and Creativity Center will sponsor a local event connected with the “Worldwide Knit in Public Day” (WWKip Day) at its Roseburg Square store, 899 Roseburg Ave., on Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 The event shows the public that knitting can be an activity for the broader community. This event shows the general public that such crafts are not only for older women, but are enjoyed by women and men of all ages, and even children.

Tables will be set up outside The Urban Sheep under the roof along the sidewalk, where participants can stitch in groups to their heart’s content.
