Blanche Froning

Blanche Froning, 94, entered into rest on January 5, 2011in Modesto with her loving family at her side. She was born on May 26, 1916 in Iowa. Blanche was a country school teacher in Garrison, Iowa, prior to becoming a homemaker. She and her husband, W.W. “Bud” Froning raised four children, they shared with them their love for life, education, music and sports. At her church she was the music director for many years, touching many people with her beautiful gift.


She later moved to Dana Point, California and then to Samaritan Village in Hughson, California. She enjoyed her life as a resident of Samaritan Village where she had many wonderful friends. Blanche will always be remembered as a caring, accepting and loving person.


Blanche is preceded in death by her husband, W.W. “Bud” Froning. She leaves behind her beloved partner of many years, Ken Amann; her four children; Dan Froning of Ogden, Iowa, Sylvia Mundt of Hughson, Thera Cavin of Lodi, and Tom Froning of Littleton, Colorado. She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, all of whom loved and adored her.


Arrangements for Blanche’s services are under the direction of P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Samaritan Village, 7700 Fox Road, Hughson, CA. 95326. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Samaritan Village Activities Fund, 7700 Fox Road, Hughson, CA. 95326.
