Dorothy Schaffer, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on February 12th, 2024 in Modesto. 

   She was born on July 22nd, 1940 in Chico to loving parents who instilled in

her a strong work ethic and unwavering compassion for others.  Dorothy’s life was marked by love and dedication to her family.  She met the love of her life Tracy at a young age and they built a beautiful life together. They were

inseparable partners not only in marriage but also as co-owners of their martial arts business for 34 years. Their commitment to each other and their shared passion for teaching self-defense left an indelible mark on the community they served.  As a mother, Dorothy poured boundless love into raising her four children; Terry, Penny, Kathi, Ray, and five grandchildren.  Her nurturing spirit created a warm and welcoming home where laughter echoed through the halls and memories were made that

will last lifetimes. Her children remember her as their rock,  always there with open arms ready to offer comfort or celebrate their triumphs.

   A public memorial service will be held at the Free Methodist Church in Ripon on Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m. where friends and loved ones can gather together to honor Dorothy’s memory.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Dorothy Schaffer.
