Raymond Eugene Dowell was born on March 9, 1935 in Rock Island, Illinois to the parents of Jesse Max Dowell and Elouise Arnold Dowell.

Raymond is survived by wife of 52 years Jeanette, his son Darren Dowell (Kelly) and daughter Desiree Dowell- Hoogendoorn (Mark) and mother-in-law Lillian Luck, all of Manteca. Sister Carol Maleesa Thomas of Phoenix, AZ, brother James “Jim” Dowell of Spring Valley, CA. Raymond was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren, Courtney and Dawson Dowell, Colin, Chandler and Carsyn Hoogendoorn also of Manteca.  He is also survived by a nephew and many nieces.

Raymond joins in heaven his parents Jesse and Elouise Dowell and his brother Glen “Sunny” Thomas.

Dr. Dowell graduated from Tracy High Schoolin 1952 and Palmer College of Chiropractic. He retired after 42 years from his chiropractic practice where his son-in-law Dr. Mark Hoogendoorn continues to practice.

A memorial service will be held at Northgate Community Church, 305 Northgate Dr., Manteca, on Thursday, July 12 at 10:30am.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in the name of Dr. Raymond E. Dowell’s name to The American Diabetes Association, 4600 Roseville Rd., Ste #130, North Highlands, CA 95660 or The American Heart Association, 1212 W. Robinhood Dr., Ste #5D, Stockton, CA 95207
