Ernest I. Aguilar, 69, entered into rest on December 10, 2010 in Manteca, California. He was born on February 22, 1941 in Barstow, California, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Refugio and Minnie Aguilar. Ernest joins his parents in heaven as well as his two sons, Ricky and Ruben Aguilar.

Mr. Aguilar is survived by his wife of 47 years Marcelina Aguilar. He has 5 daughters Rebecca Madrid and husband Daniel of Manteca, Rachel Phillips of Santa Maria, Rosemarie Medina and husband Greg of Tracy, Rita Lassell and husband Greg of Manteca, and Ramona Murphy and husband John of Manteca. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren; Veronica, Danielle, Victoria, D.J., Richard, Anthony, Marcus, Gregory Jr., Robert, Chase, Patrick, Nina, Mark, and Marcy as well as two great-grandchildren; Jesse and Ronin. Ernest is also survived by two siblings: Anita Rayley of Manteca and Robert Aguilar of Oakdale.

Ernest was a resident of Manteca for 49 years. He retired from LOF after 30 years of service as a foreman. He proudly served his country through the National Guard. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Manteca. Ernest had a wonderful sense of humor, always joking and having a great time. He was especially known for his nick-name “The Bingo King.” He never missed a game no matter the circumstance. He loved a great game of golf and enjoyed visits from his “grand-doggy’s” Oscar and Olivia. His grandchildren were his pride and joy; he loved them dearly. He always looked forward to family vacations every summer spending quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ernest will be remembered as a hard worker, a devoted husband, loving father and a very special grandfather. He will be missed.  

Mr. Aguilar’s services are being handled by P.L .Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 1 to 5 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. A celebration of life service will be held the following day on December 16, 2010 at noon, also held at P.L. Fry & Son. He will be laid to rest with his sons at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery – Escalon.
