Herculano Manuel Vieira, 76, entered into rest on September 9, 2016. He was born on February 12, 1940 in Topo, Sao Jorge, Azores and lived most of his life in Manteca, CA.
   He is preceded in death by his parents Joao Pereira Vieira Jr. and Adelaide Gomes Vieira.  Herculano is survived by his three children; Teresa M. Bettencourt, Maria T. Silva, and Herculano Jose Vieira; and sons-in-law, Jose Bettencourt and Antonio Silva, and daughter-in-law, Connie Vieira. He was blessed by seven grandchildren; Diana Mancebo, Joey Mancebo, Antonio A. Silva, Grace Bettencourt, Silvana Fatima Vieira, Kyla Serafina Vieira, and Eliana Conceicao Vieira. In addition, Herculano is survived by one sibling; Nuno Brazil of Calheta, Sao Jorge, Azores.
   Herculano was very proud of his Portuguese heritage. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He was a retired landscaper owning and operating Herky’s Lawn Service. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and playing music with the Portuguese Filharmonica Band of Tracy, CA. He leaves behind his faithful companion, his dog Taco. He loved to socialize and had many loyal friends. His family was most important to him as he loved each of them unconditionally. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.
     P.L .Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Vieira family. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA. A Mass will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 525 E. North St., Manteca, CA. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Escalon, CA. An online guest book is available for condolences to the family at www.plfryandson.com (search obituaries).
