Ilene A. Weigel, 74, entered into rest on Jan. 13, 2011 in Stockton. She was born on Dec. 12, 1936 to the late Lars and Gladys Larson.

Ilene leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, Marcus Weigel of Stockton. She has two children whom she adored: David Mark Weigel and wife Kari and Debbie Volk and husband Joe of Stockton. She was blessed with three grandchildren: Amanda Adair Weigel, Robert John Volk II and David Mark Weigel II. She was sister to Janice Bender and Linda Weninger.

Ilene was a homemaker for most of her life, but worked many years as a supervisor for the K-Mart store in Manteca (when it was still on Yosemite). Ilene enjoyed having a good time. You would often find her dancing with her husband to their favorite music surrounded by their many friends. Ilene played various types of games; she was a great bowler and took her crossword puzzles quite seriously, never leaving one incomplete. She was excellent shuffler and very competitive. Ilene and her family traveled through the United States and had the opportunity to travel through Europe where they were able to see many cathedrals. Ilene was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she was involved with the Eucharistic Ministries. She was also an Auxiliary Chaplain for Post 6311. Ilene will be remembered for being a devout and faithful wife a loving mother and a special grandmother. She will be missed dearly.

Arrangements for Mrs. Weigel are under the direction of P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca.

A mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 East North St. Manteca on Monday, Jan, 24, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest at San Joaquin National Cemetery, 32053 West McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA., 95322. For condolences to the family please visit search/obituaries.
