 Jacqueline Boyd Brophy passed away February 1, 2017, surrounded by family. 
Jacque was born to Robert Woodworth Boyd and Ernestine Graves Rivet in Yuba City, CA, September 7, 1935.  She attend parochial school in Yuba City and Yuba City High School.  She earned a Bachelor’s degree at Chico State University and a Master’s Degree from Sacramento State University.
   In 1956 she married Gary Wilson Brophy and they started their family.  She was a lifelong educator and philanthropist. She retired from education in 1996 as Leadership Advisor and Dean of Students at Manteca High School.  She enjoyed years of travel and spending time with her family.  In her service to others she was a member of Soroptimist of Manteca and helped bring hospice care to Manteca. 
   Jacque is predeceased by her parents and husband Gary.  She is survived by her son Dennis Brophy (Derek Tomasello), daughter Sara Brophy Long (Chuck), three grandchildren Stephanie Esparza (Martin), Michael Alexander and Jennifer Alexander, and two great grandchildren Addison Esparza and Alysia Coffey.  She is also survived by her half-brother Robert Rivet (Julie), and many of her Boyd-family cousins. 
   A vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. February 23, 2017 at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, Manteca, CA and a funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. February 24, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Manteca, CA.  A celebration of life will take place immediately after the funeral mass at Spring Creek, Ripon, CA.
   In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Jacque may be made to Soroptimist of Manteca, P.O. Box 218, Manteca, CA 95336, Hospice of San Joaquin, 179 W. North St., Manteca, CA 95336, or Providence St. Vincent Medical Foundation, 9205 SW Barnes Rd., Portland, OR 97225.
