Mary Lou Ruiz (Alejo) passed away on January 27, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her son Douglas (Popie) Ruiz Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Douglas P. Ruiz, her children, Ernie, Davina, Angie, and David, three grandchildren Terra, Tasha, Santino Jr., her great-grandson Gabriel, her siblings Anita Gerolaga (John), Josie Lovato (Philip), Esther Ramirez (Larry), Danny Alejo (Dolores), Nancy Camacho (Mario), Tony Martinez (Stella), Margie Guzman (Joe), and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mary was born in San Jose, California. She grew up and attended school in Stockton, CA. After her marriage to Douglas she resided in Lathrop, raising her family there. She became a foster parent and cared for many neglected and abused children. She was lovingly known as Aunt Mary to several generations of children and her numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. All services will be held at St. George’s Catholic Church, 120 W. 5th Street, Stockton, CA 95206.
