Norman Jay Zwinge, 89, died Tuesday, December 29, at Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on June 18, 1920 in Tracy. He was a lineman for PG&E for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Hudson.

Mr. Zwinge is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carroll Zwinge; daughter, Norma Titsworth of Great Bend, KS; grandchildren, Rodney Monsees (Sabine) of Austin, Texas, Randy Benefield (Darla) of Petaluma, Shelley McKeever (John) of Everett, Washington, Rachel Chang (Johnson) of Oakland and Sarah Hinmon (Steven) of Hoisington, KS, step-granddaughters, Sherri Titsworth of Carlisle, Penn. and Jennifer Broom (John) of Jefferson, Ohio, three great-grandsons, Brandon, Ryan and Grant, two great-granddaughters, Amber and Katherine.

Norman was initiated into the Masonic Order in 1945 and was a member and Past Master of Tyrian Lodge in Manteca. He was a member of the Scottish Rite in Stockton, Ben Ali Shrine in Sacramento and past Commander of Ben Ali Shrine Legion of Honor. He was a member of Mother Lode Shrine club, Ben Ali Past Masters Unit, San Joaquin Shrine Club, Robert the Bruce Association and a member and past president of Escalon Shrine Club.

Golfing was one of his greatest pleasures until recent years. He was a past charter member of the Manteca Men’s Golf Club and was a past president.

He served as a volunteer driver of children and families to the Shrine Children’s Hospital. He served on the Rainbow Girls Advisory Board and as Rainbow Dad. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 910 E. North St., Manteca.
