Pamela Jeanne Thornton, 70, passed away November 18, 2019. She was born June 16, 1949 in Hammond, IN.
    Pam graduated from Thornton Fractional High School South in Lansing IL. She served in the United States Air Force as a Medical Service Specialist at Little Rock AFB in Jacksonville, Arkansas. While serving in the Air Force, she met and married Raymond E. Thornton on July 5, 1968. They had two sons. Pam lived in Sacramento, CA, St. Petersburg, FL, Ontario, CA, Marysville and Yuba City, CA, Chapel Hill, NC, and Manteca, CA. Pam worked at Sears and Mervyn’s Department stores, Kniffin Ambulance,  Sierra View Mortuary,  Sacramento Army Depot, Hewlett Packard, and the Appeal Democrat in Yuba City, CA.
   Pam loved her family and friends unselfishly and generously. She enjoyed travelingand journeyed across the United States many times over the course of her life.
   Pam is survived by her sister, Marsha Conroy of Schererville, IN; son Jason M. (Tammy) Thornton of Manteca, CA, her grandsons Jorren Thornton of Durham NC, Bryan (Megan) Stewart of Henderson, AR, Jonathan Stewart of Manteca, CA, and Zane Addington of Eureka, CA.
   Pam was preceded in death by her husband Raymond E. Thornton, son Aaron P. Thornton, and parents Joseph and Eva Belle Banas.
   A memorial service will be held at the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Manteca, CA, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019
