On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, Rose Mary Lewis, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 82. Rose Mary was born March 3,1937 in Arcata, California to Mary and Joseph Fagundes. Rose Mary married Bobby J. Lewis on September 14, 1958 in Arcata, California. Bob and Rose were married for 61 years. Rose and Bob moved to Redding, California in 1976. They raised two daughters, Kim and Kristi. They moved to Manteca, California in 1991 and Rose began work for the Manteca Unified School District, where she worked for 10 years until her retirement.
Rose was an active member of St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church in Manteca since 1991. She enjoyed serving as a eucharistic minister to homebound members of St. Anthony’s parish. Rose loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Fagundes, her mother, Mary Fagundes and her sister Judy Fagundes. She is survived by her husband Bobby J. Lewis, her daughter Kim Larson and her fiance Tim Camper, her daughter Kristi Montet and her husband Kenny, nine grandchildren, Kaely, Kassidy, Keat, Nick, Zackary, Aaron, Anna, Noah and Emilia, her brother, Manual Fagundes and his wife Lynn, her sister Josie Nelson and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life mass will be held Monday, October 7, 2019 at St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church, at 505 North Street, Manteca, California, at 11 o’clock a.m with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ministry of Caring at St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church at (209) 823-7197.
