Sandra Tapley, 78, entered into rest on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at home in Manteca. She was born in Healdsburg and was raised in Cloverdale.
   She is preceded in death by her parents, Amy and Charles Reichel.  Sandy leaves behind her beloved husband of 40 years, Robert (Bob) Tapley of Manteca; her daughters Nora Reed (Diane) of Sacramento and Nancy Freisen (Jake) of Silver Springs, MD; and stepsons Richard Tapley (Debbie) of Visalia, Robert Tapley (Barbara) of Reedly, Stanley Tapley (Mickey) of Manteca, and Harold Tapley (Cheryl) of Manteca. She also leaves behind a brother, Charles Reichel (Corinne) of Healdsburg and nieces Valerie Moberg (Dan), Sarah Prasad (Monoo) and nephew Leland Reichel (Heather) as well as many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from her extended family.
   Sandy attended school in Cloverdale, CA. She was an excellent student, a trombone player with the Cloverdale High School band, and in 1956 voted Queen of the Cloverdale Citrus Fair. After graduation Sandy attended nursing school and began her nursing career at Highland Hospital in Oakland, continuing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Eureka and lastly, at Manteca Hospital, which later became Doctor’s Hospital of Manteca. She worked in the OB/GYN department, helped deliver and care for many babies until she retired in 1999 after 31 years. In retirement she became an active member of Northgate Community Church.
   Sandy loved spending time in her garden, her many cats, shopping for bargains and bowling with good friends Jim and Betty Hendrix. She was warm and funny and had many long term friendships. Her family is comforted knowing she continues to be surrounded by love. She will be remembered for her kindness, gentle spirit and generosity. She had a rich and blessed life.
   P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Tapley family. A visitation (viewing) will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017, from 1 p.m to 5p.m. and a chapel service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. The visitation and chapel service will be held at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca, CA. Following the service she will be laid to rest on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Park View Cemetery, 3661 French Camp Road, Manteca, CA.
