Tina (Stijntje) Soeten was born on February 28, 1917, in Mildam, Friesland, The Netherlands.  She passed away peacefully with family at her side at Bethany Home, Ripon, CA on February 4, 2017, at the age of 99.  Her parents were Anne Jeep and Ibeltje (Oosterdijk) Hoekstra.  She was the sixth of seven children.
Tina married Henry (Hendrik) Soeten on May 8, 1948.  They, together with their first daughter, immigrated to America in 1952, settling in the Ripon/Manteca area.  Henry had various milking jobs and Tina did housecleaning. Their goal was to start their own dairy business.  They were able rent a dairy in Escalon where their second daughter was born. Shortly after that, they started their own dairy farm in Escalon.  Tina worked right alongside her husband in the milkbarn.  In 1964, they sold the dairy and purchased an almond farm in Manteca.  Retirement years were spent in Ripon, where Henry passed away in 1993.Tina lived independently until February, 2015, at which time she moved into Bethany Home.
We will remember and miss her loving, caring and generous nature and her amazing positive outlook on life.  Tina had a strong quiet love for the Lord.
She joins her husband, Henry, her granddaughter, Christine Hinkle, and great granddaughter, Abigail Hinkle, in heaven.
She is survived by her sister, Lieske Hospes of The Netherlands and two daughters, Lieske (Rien) Doornenbal of Escalon and Hilda (Gene) Brock of Manteca.  She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Tieneke (Hans) VanderHoek of WA, Pete (Laura) Doornenbal of ID, John (Maryann) Doornenbal of ID, Luke (Brittany) Doornenbal of Escalon, (Bryan) Hinkle of Valley Springs, Stacy (Jason) Erickson of Madera, Melissa (Michael) Thurston of Manteca, Sarah (Kevin) Burns of Ripon and Rebecca (Justin) Schmidt of MI, and 25 greatgrandchildren.
