Wendy Leigh (Peterson) Petz, 76, passed away on May 21, 2012 at Sutter Tracy Hospital after a long illness. Wendy was active in the community and a member of St. Bernard's Church in Tracy for nearly 60 years. She graduated from Patterson High School in 1953 and married her high school sweetheart, David Petz, ten days later.

Wendy was a 4-H leader, volunteered at the Tracy Interfaith Ministries, participated in the Women’s Club at New Jerusalem School, and enjoyed her bridge and card clubs. She loved spending time with family and friends at Lake Tahoe, and delighted in seeing new places and meeting new people.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years. She is survived by her four children; Diane Rose (Norm) of Oregon, Karen Lewandowski (Craig) of Tracy, Michael Petz (Lisa) of Tracy, Jan Sharrock (Tim) of Danville, 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary and Celebration of Life will be held at Fry’s Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Avenue at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30. An on-line guest book is available at www.frymemorialchapel.com for condolences and special messages to the family.
