What are you doing this weekend?
Hopefully cheering on some basketball stars (or klutzes) who may wear uniforms in their everyday life, but will don jerseys for a good cause. Manteca Firefighters and Manteca Police officers team up to show their basketball skills in a game that is scheduled for tonight, March 19, at Sierra High School Gym (1700 Thomas St.) at 6 p.m. They are not hesitant to spend some quality time showing their sports skills, because the event is organized by the Sierra High Sober Grad Committee and all proceeds will go towards an alcohol-free graduation celebration for the Class of 2015. But don’t head home right after the game, immediately following is SHS Student vs. Faculty game. It’s going to be fun! Price: $5 at the door, $2 for students 6-17, basketball fans ages 5 and under FREE Learn more at http://bit.ly/1FFj9wb

St. Patrick’s Day has just passed, but not for the Stockton Animal Shelter. Starting on Saturday, March 14, you were able to choose your adoption fee for cats and dogs 6 months or older – “Choose Your Luck... Choose Your Adoption Fee.” Pretty catchy name, right? It could be as low as $10 or as generous as your wallet feels. You only need to meet their requirements to adopt, which are to be are least 18 and a valid ID. Then, this Saturday, March 21, there will be a party where ALL the animals will be available for adoption, even puppies and kittens. Meet them at the City of Stockton Animal Shelter (1575 S Lincoln Street, Stockton) from noon to 4 p.m. Price: Varies Learn more at http://www.apl209.org/Specials.html
