It’s ice cream time! Manteca Historical Society & Museum is presenting its 23rd annual BBQ & Ice Cream Social at the Manteca Transit Center (Moffat Boulevard at Main Street) on Sunday, Sept. 13. Social starts at 2 p.m. and bountiful dinner at 3:30. There will be music by Second Chance Band, antique car show and a raffle. Advance tickets are $20 for adults, kids 12 and under $9. The historical society tonight at 7 p.m. is having Stanford University photography professor Robert Dawson who just published “The Public Library” — a photo essay collection of libraries in America — speak.

He will present photos and information about libraries and then discuss them.

The American Legion Post 249 (220 E. Yosemite Avenue) is hosting a Prime Rib Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 15, at 6 p.m. Served will be a prime rib with all the fixings. Tickets are $15 apiece.
