Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
I’ll keep this short and sweet. I wanted to thank you for your factual, fair and balanced article in Monday’s Bulletin, June 26, 2017, titled “Driving Manteca”.
You hit the nail on the head on so many different traffic issues throughout Manteca. One thought occurred to me though that you didn’t cover, and that is who are the participants in this major Lathrop Road corridor study? Are we going to have the same City staff doing the same thing they’ve seemed to always be doing, business as usual shutting City residents out of the process, or are we going to allow City residents, who have a stake in the game, to be part of the planning process and participate more than just at the public hearing where the City plan gets rubber stamped?
Since we are the ones who will eventually have to pay for the upgrades to Lathrop Road and will be broadly impacted by whatever changes come out of this process, shouldn’t we be listened to? Shouldn’t our voices have just as much say as those of developers and City staff who don’t travel these roads and perhaps don’t even live in Manteca?

Will we have a say on Lathrop Road?
