The Lathrop freshmen gave up two first-quarter touchdowns on interceptions Thursday to Bradshaw Christian’s Marina Altamura and Altamura scored on a long run early in the second quarter to lead the Pride to a 19-6 non-league win over the Spartans at Bennie Gatto Field.

Daevion Blanks pulled in an 8-yard scoring pass from Antonio Marquez in the fourth quarter for Lathrop.

The Spartans defense gave the offense multiple opportunities with Dan Ballesteros, Keonnee Linnell, Harvey Cuellar and Mattox Harrell each recovering a fumble for Lathrop. Ayiende Dukes led the Spartans defense with 10 tackles. Cuellar added nine stops and Michael Ramos five.

Marquez was 9 of 17 passing for 79 yards with two interceptions and a touchdown.



Sierra 14, Central Valley 13

The host Hawks went for the win with 3:03 left in the game on a two-point conversion attempt that came up short thanks to Caden Worth and Julian Saenz pressuring the Central Valley quarterback on the play.

Jacob Peterson 18 carries for 120 yards to lead the Timberwolves ground game and Daemon Duran (12 carries, 71 yards) scored the lone Sierra offensive touchdown on a 2-yard run.

After a scoreless first quarter David Reyes gave the Timberwolves a 7-0 lead on a 73-yard punt return for touchdown.

Jacob Peterson had seven tackles to lead the Sierra defense with Jaylen Jackson and Daemon Duran each adding four stops. Jordan Black forced a fumble and Nick Perez recovered a fumble for the Timberwolves.



Ripon 7, Patterson 6

Donnie Cooksey dove in from the 1-yard line and Juan Rodriguez connected on the extra point, as Ripon held on for a slim victory.
