SACRAMENTO — Ripon Christian’s run in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V playoffs came to an end in the semifinals Tuesday when the third-seeded Knights were swept 16-25, 16-25, 21-25 by No. 2 Bradshaw Christian.
Bradshaw (21-11) faces No. 1-seeded Capital Christian (21-0) in the title round Thursday at Tokay High of Lodi.
“It was a tough match,” first-year Ripon Christian coach Jocelyn Benizger said. “Bradshaw works well as a team and they have weapons that were difficult to halt. Our girls still played with heart and worked hard.
Paige Vos led Southern League champion Ripon Christian (26-10) with 10 kills, five digs and an ace. Carly Eastham added nine kills, setter Elizabeth Weststeyn had 16 assists and Bethany Silveira collected 12 digs.
