The East Union Lancers sophomore baseball team fell just short in their Valley Oak League contest with Manteca Tuesday, coming up on the short end in a 6-5 contest.

Freshman Kyle Emerson tossed six innings for the Lancers, scattering five hits and striking out four.

Andrew Ruiz, Kyle Austin and Emerson were all 2 for 3 in the loss.

The Buffaloes (4-2, 9-3 destroyed Kimball High in five innings Tuesday, getting a total team effort in the 16-4 VOL win.

Nick Lucheeti hit a homerun for the Buffaloes, while both Chris Iioio and Cade Buffalow both had three RBI.

Ryan Matthews and Ryan Harbeck handled the pitching, both striking out three and walking none in their outings.
