EU outshoots Manteca for VOL victory

Neither team was at their best, but East Union was good enough to dispatch rival Manteca 270-288 and improve to 8-2 in the Valley Oak League on Tuesday.
Low medalist Kendra Campbell paced East Union with a 46 at Manteca Park Golf Course. Haley Leonard (48), Natalie Cowan (51) and Kennedy Goodnough (54) were the next best finishers. Sierra Wilkerson and Tiana Torres each carded a 71.
Three Manteca (6-5) players finished with 55s:  Sierra Martinez, Haighley Kissee and Taylor Reed. Kylie Eberle added a 59 and Bella Gonzales had a 64.
East Union is back in action today against visiting Central Catholic, while Manteca faces first-place Oakdale on the road Thursday.

Kimball 271, Sierra 291
TRACY  — Host Kimball had the top two finishers in Sophie Whaite (49) and Kayla Naldo (50) at Tracy Country Club.
Bryanna Gavino led Sierra (4-9) with a 53 and was followed by Legacy Barnes (57), Kaitlyn Looney (59), Aubrey White (61) and Hailee Looney (61).

Weston Ranch 367
STOCKTON — The Spartans picked up their first win of the season Tuesday at Van Buskirk Golf Course.
Lathrop’s Chloe Malicoat was low medalist with a 57. With its top golfer Sierra Strambler sitting out for the match, Weston Ranch was led by Supreet Sandhu’s 63.

LODI — With the match was cancelled for Tuesday, both coaches agreed to use their teams’ back-nine scores from Monday’s VFL North Division Mid-Year Tournament held at Micke Grove Golf Links.
Laura Williams and Alex Gonzales carded a 40 and 41, respectively, for the league-leading Indians (8-0). Claire Wever added a 49, and Bianca Toledo a 51. Nicole Sheppard topped Argonaut golfers with a 51.
