The East Union girls golf team shot its low round of the season Tuesday at Manteca Park Golf Course in a 234-289 win over the upstart Buffaloes.
Jackie Ketner paced the fantastic effort with a 3-over-par 40, and playing partner Jillian Goulart was right on her heels with a 43.
Frances Telles (44), and Tori Souza (46) continued to impress, while Salina Tiscareno carded a 61, and Heather Craft turned in a 68.
“EU was impressive,” Manteca head coach Greg Conway said. “It looks like they put in a lot of work over the summer.”
Kaylee Joaquin led the way for the Buffaloes yet again, this time with a 48, while Danielle Roberts returned to the clubhouse with a 51, and Chandler Rose turned in a 52.
Michaela Dias showed well with a 62, Melissa Bond had a 76, and Sierra Roberts carded a 77.
“We came out a little rusty,” Conway said. “We didn’t have a chance to practice over the weekend. We’re showing a lot of fight, but the season is still fairly new and we’re now facing more competitive teams. Hopefully next time out it will be a little better.”
Manteca (2-1) heads to Oakdale Thursday, while the Lancers (3-0) host Sonora.
Ashley Kiesel carded a 47, and Amanda Orr shot a 49.
Both Alicia Kmiec and Heather Schmitz returned with a 50, and Allison Smith inked a 61.
