Kossart’s 14 aces help lift Sierra to season-opening win

Zoe Kossart fired 14 service aces in Sierra’s season opener Tuesday, and the Timberwolves put it away with a dominant fourth set in their 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 25-11 win over visiting Lodi.

They’ll host Weston Ranch on Thursday for what will be their last home match in a month.

Kossart also led Sierra with seven kills and six digs. Becca Thomson tallied 20 assists. Libero Jenna Dalen finished with five digs and four aces.

Elaina Threet contributed five kills and three blocks. Abigail Chapman tallied four kills, three blocks and three aces.

 

East Union 3, Gustine 0

After going 2-2 at the Orestimba Tournament this past weekend, East Union (3-2) traveled to Gustine and came away with a 25-18, 25-22, 25-22 win.

Mariela Navarro (block), Grace Silva and Katelyn Trevino (block) clobbered four kills apiece for the Lancers. Valerie Ochoa racked up six aces. Marcella Carrenza added three aces to go with three assists. Makayla Viri also had three assists.
