The Rays overcame an early four-run deficit and defeated the Mets 12-5 on Wednesday to earn the Manteca Little League major division title and a berth to the District 67 Tournament of Champions.
Trailing 5-1, the Rays rallied for 10 runs in the third.
Daelyn Luis was a two-way difference maker for the Rays. He got the decision after pitching 3 1/3 shutout innings, while hitting 3 for 3 with ta triple and three RBIs at the plate.
Infielder Marcus Aldridge went 3 for 3 and played a role in three double plays. Armando Castillo, Brayden Hoffman and Dennis Huber added two hits apiece.
The District 67 TOC begins June 13 and is hosted by Northgate Little League. Manteca opens with the Salida champion at 9 a.m.
