Nick Sharp brought his best to Stevinson Ranch on Thursday.

Sharp shot an even 36 and led Ripon to a 208-222 Trans Valley League victory over Hilmar.

“(Sharp) has been battling to beat (Hilmar’s) No. 1 all year and he did it today,” Ripon head coach Chris Musseman said. “It was a big win for us at their place. Knowing we needed a win to keep ourselves in it, my kids performed great.”

Senior Jack Brierly shot a 4-over 40, as did Kyle Head. Nathan Suender and Cole Herrin carded 46s to round out the Ripon (12-0 TVL) total.

“(Brierly) stepped up big time,” Musseman said. “That was the biggest difference in the match, and it came on a day he’s been looking forward to for a while.”

Hilmar’s Landon Acevedo shot a team-low 37.

On Tuesday, Ripon will be competing in the TVL Tournament held at Green Horn Creek. A top two or three finish will crown Ripon 2013 TVL champion.
