Ripon Christian’s girls volleyball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule Thursday with a commanding 25-15, 25-7, 25-12 thumping of visiting Le Grand.
The Knights (14-0, 27-6 overall) claimed a fourth straight championship in the Southern Athletic League, dropping just a single set against league opponents along the way. Next week, they’ll begin their title defense in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V playoffs.
Jordan Vander Veen had an efficient showing on the attack, racking up 12 kills on 19 attempts. Her eight digs and six aces were also team-highs.
Ava Van Groningen contributed 11 kills and six aces. Olivia Ozenbaugh and Sydney Hoffman added seven and six kills, respectively Eva Benedict facilitated the offense with 29 assists. Maddie Yonker and Hoffman each had a block.
GIRLS TENNIS
Manteca 9, East Union 0
Defending Valley Oak League and Sac-Joaquin Section Division II singles champion Katie Kim capped a dominant regular-season campaign in which she did not lose a single game.
In the final dual match of the season Thursday, she took out Samantha Edley 6-0, 6-0 at Manteca Regional Tennis Center. No. 3 Emma Ngo, No. 4 Shreya Raman and No. 5 Jenna Poncini also shut out their opponents.
Chloe Marquis took the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-1 against Jalyssa Molina, and Christiana Nguyen won at No. 6, 6-1, 6-0.
The 10-0 Buffaloes didn’t let up in doubles play, either. Eva Pasion and Alyssa Bottoms took the No. 1 matchup 6-1, 6-0 against Isabella Teicheira and Samantha Escamilla. The second tandem of Simar Mann and Michailla Springs prevailed 6-1, 6-1, while No. 3 Guadalupe Mercado and Parm Toor also coasted, 6-0, 6-1.
