TWolves too much for Modesto

The Sierra High sophomore softball team exposed the Modesto Panthers in a 15-0 non-league blowout Wednesday at Sierra High.

The Timberwolves rolled to victory behind lights-out pitching from Summer Wilson and Kaitlyn Perkins. The two combined for a two-hitter and helped their cause by both going deep with homeruns. Wilson had a four-hit performance and the homer, while teammate Milli Gonzalez collected two hits, including a homerun.

Manteca 8, Grace Davis 7
The Buffaloes (3-3) pulled out a miraculous comeback, beating the Spartans on the last at-bat of the contest Wednesday.

Zach Menasco collected the walk-off single, sending the Spartans home with a loss. Menasco led Manteca going 2 for 3 at the plate, while teammate Alex Martinez went 1 for 1 with three walks and three runs scored.

STOCKTON — The Buffaloes were led by Anthony Cota’s 3-for-4 effort with an RBI. Alex Martinez went 2 for 3 with a double.

Freshman baseball
Manteca 8, Modesto Christian 6
Isaiah Stevens got Manteca out of a bases-loaded jam in the final inning to clinch the team’s first win of the season. T.J. Galdos earned the win from the mound.

Sal Pena led the offense with a 2-for-3 effort that included a double and two RBIs. Chris Estrada went 2 for 2 and drove in a run, while Nick Van Warmerdam drove in a pair.
