Vallo strikes twice as Lady Knights blank TC

After a scoreless tie through the first half of play, the Ripon Christian girls soccer team got things clicking, posting three unanswered goals in a 3-0 win over Turlock Christian Wednesday in Southern League action.

Vanessa Vallo netted a pair of goals for RC and Adri Van Groningen scored the other in the win.

“The first half was a see-saw battle,” Ripon Christian head coach Kevin Tameling said. “We were able to capitalize on our opportunities in the second half.

“Kaylie Colyn controlled the center of the field the entre match, continually putting pressure on Turlock Christian’s defense.”

Vallo netted both her goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half, scoring on assists from Kaylie Colyn and Kamryn Bylsma.

The Knights will try and continue their winning streak when they host Delhi Tuesday.

Valley Oak League

East Union 8, Weston Ranch 0

The Lancers had little difficulty taking care of the Weston ranch Cougars, cruising to a 8-0 Valley Oak League win Wednesday.

Isela Rivera put together a half-season’s worth of work, scoring four goals in the lopsided blowout. Taylor Rose, Rose Wood, Rachel Sianez and Megan Wallace all scored goals for East Union.

Gina Davis handed out a pair of assists and Selena daSilva and Maddy Meyer also had assists.

The Lancers will get a stiffer challenge Monday when they Oakdale Mustangs pay a visit to Dino Cunial Field.

Frosh-soph

East Union 6, Weston Ranch 0

Jordan Gonzalez, Alivia Lemay, Nikki Rodriguez and Madeline Yslava all scored goals in East Union’s 6-0 blowout over the Cougars.
