OAKDALE — Manteca suffered its second straight Valley Oak League setback Thursday at Oakdale, 3-2.
Yassen Aniss won 6-2, 6-3, and Arnie Morales and Alex Barragan won 7-6, 6-1.
Alex McAdams and Max Angelo fell 5-7, 6-2, 3-6.
“It was a tough loss for us,” Manteca head coach Frank Fontana said. “We were a couple of sets away from winning. It’s been a rough week, but we’ll bounce back after Spring Break.”
The Valley Oak League Novice Tournament kicks off Saturday at East Union.
In Weston Ranch, the Cougars’ lone point came from No. 2 doubles tandem Steven Ho and JoVincent Legaspi, who won 6-1, 6-3.
