The hottest wakeboarders in the world will once again ascend on Lathrop today when the Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard tour kicks off at Mossdale Quarry Lakes.

The third in a four-part series featuring the best wakeboarders and wake skaters the sport has to offer, Saturday’s event is the fourth time that the site has attracted the sports best and brightest, and the only Supra Pro tour stop on the West Coast.

“I think that the sport has grown tremendously in this area and when we pick stops on the tour we’re looking for the hotbeds of wake boarding,” said Tour Public Relations Manager Robyn Scheckler. “The event here at Mossdale Lakes has really grown over the years – people realize that it’s a family-friendly way to have fun.”

And it’s one of the unlikely professional events where you can meet and mingle with the Stars themselves as if they were just a part of the crowd.

Because they are.

According to Scheckler, organized autograph sessions will be available for the public, but the event is also a chance for those interested in the sport to casually chat with the athletes when they’re not in the water.

“It’s a fun place to grab some beach and some sun and enjoy watching the best wake boarders in the world,” she said.

The event runs today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mossdale Quarrry Lakes – located on the east side of I-5 off of the Manthey Road exit. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12. Children 5-and-under are free.
