EL CERRITO  (AP) — Police are looking for at least one suspect who shot a 19-year-old man in the chest following an argument at a BART station in El Cerrito.

Bay Area Rapid Transit officials say the shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. Friday when two groups got into an argument outside the El Cerrito Plaza station.

Officials say the victim ran toward the station and yelled "I've been shot!" before collapsing near a turnstile.

BART police say the victim was airlifted to John Muir hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe the victim and shooter know each other but don't know the nature of their relationship.

The Contra Costa Times reports police closed the streets near the station while they searched for the shooter. The station reopened and train service resumed around 1 p.m.
