 Born in West Virginia on February 7, 1938, Frances “Fran” Irene Morton entered into rest on December 23, 2018 in Modesto, CA. In heaven, she joins her husband Richard Allen Morton Sr. 

   Fran is survived by her loving family, Richard Allen Morton Jr., Shane Andrew Morton and Tara Lou Morton, grandchildren, Richard Dylan Morton, William Andrew Morton and Dennis Allen Atkins and one great-grandchild, Ryder Morton. In addition, she is survived by two sisters, Margaret Miles and Rhoda Duff Mullins and countless extended family members who loved her dearly. 

   An opinionated, smart woman, Fran grew up in West Virginia where she worked for Diamond Department Store. While working at Diamond she  modeled their clothing,  taught make-up etiquette and met John F. Kennedy. At the young age of 25 Fran and her husband moved to California where they raised their three children in Manteca. Shortly after moving to Manteca, she began her career through the Manteca Unified School District as an Instructional Aide finally retiring after 35 years of service. She was a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed her many years of involvement with the Rainbow Girls. She absolutely loved being with her children and grand- children where she was extremely supportive with all of their extracurricular activities. Fran will be remembered for her unconditional love, her witty character and her elegant spirit. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Morton family. A celebration of life will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA. An online obituary is available for condolences to the family at www.plfryandson.com
