Rosie Vocu, 86, entered into rest on April 8, 2009.She was born July 4, 1922 in Canada. She was a resident of Manteca for 31 years. She is preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years Gene Vocu. Her children are Janet Mack of Colton, OR., Jack King of Anchorage, AK., David King of Portland OR., Nancy Muirhead of Milwaukie, OR., and Stanley King of Stockton. She is also survived by four step-children; Roxanne Mitchell of Tenino, WA., Paulette Vocu of Manteca, Chuck “CJ” Vocu of PA., and Shadow Vocu of Onalaska, WA. Her siblings are Joseph Reiter of WA and Thresa Burkheartsmeir of Portland, OR. She was blessed by 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Rosie loved bowling and golfing. She was an amazing cook. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and a very special grandmother. She will be remembered as a sweet and outgoing lady, who was loved by all.
Mrs. Vocu’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, April 20, at 1 p.m. at MT. Scott Funeral Home in Portland, Oregon. Final resting place will be at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR.
