I wrote a letter to the editor published March 23 on behalf of the East Union High Kiwins Club and the benefit dodge ball tournament they conducted on March 20.
In the final paragraph of the letter I gave credit to the top three teams in the tournament. As the author of the letter, and the advisor to the club I disregarded the offensive implications one team’s name may have caused readers of the Manteca Bulletin and the community. As the advisor of the KiwinsS Club it is my duty to guide students to be sensitive and careful in the language they use so as not to offend. I take full responsibility for my error in judgment and apologize to anyone in the community offended by the contents of my letter.
