A reader came up with Chick-fil-A as the correct hiding place for the first $100 egg in the Bulletin’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.

The clues for this week’s egg hunt are hidden in the ad on page A14 of today’s paper. It is where you will find the directions on how to submit your entry and how the winner is determined by the first correct answer emailed if there are multiple correct answers.

There are four weeks of egg hunts.

The clues to last week’s location for the hidden $100 egg:

*This is where Manteca planners laid a big egg — This references the traffic mess created by the City of Manteca for determining there were no adverse traffic issues that cleared the way for Chick-fil-A to build on the northeast corner of Northwoods and Yosemite avenues.

*Was it once named after as Imperial Valley city? —  This is a reference to Brawley’s restaurant that was the first business built at the location. Brawley is in Imperial County in the Imperial Valley in Southern California.

*The “French” are buried there — In order  to address storm run-off issues one of the biggest French drains, consisting of large open ended culvert pipes, were buried beneath the parking lot.

*Where Manteca’s last local bank was hatched — Brawley’s was where 50 years ago dairy cattle broker and hay seller Andrew Rossi over a cup of coffee shared his plans with Manteca Drug Store pharmacist Ted Poulus and grocery store owner Joe Freitas to open a local and got them to join him. Delta National Bank had branches in Manteca, Riverbank, Turlock, Modesto and Stockton when it was acquired by F&M Bank in 2016
