The Delta Chapter of the California Society Sons of the American Revolution, in partnership with the American Legion Clinton McCausland Post 190 and the City of Ripon is announcing the official dedication of San Joaquin County's Liberty Tree on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 311 First Street, Ripon.

The event establishes a living monument honoring America’s 250th anniversary, joining a prestigious network of historical markers across California and the United States. Local civic leaders, history enthusiasts, and the public are invited to attend.

Rooted in the legacy of the original Liberty Tree in Boston—the historic elm where the Sons of Liberty gathered in 1765 to protest British rule — this new living monument in Ripon serves as an enduring symbol of freedom, Americanism, community resilience, and historical education. It will provide a dedicated space for patriotic celebrations for generations to come.

The 10:30 a.m. event takes place Veterans Museum and Veterans Wall memorial at corner of First and S. Locust.

The event includes a formal dedication program, historical remarks, and a vibrant presentation of colors in authentic period uniforms by the Sons of the American Revolution Color guard.

The Sons of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-partisan patriotic organization dedicated to preserving American freedom, honoring Revolutionary War ancestors, and fostering patriotism through historical commemoration and youth education.
