Lathrop Recreation offers dog obedience classes

The City of Lathrop is offering basic dog obedience / canine good citizen classes beginning Thursday, March 13, at the Lathrop Generations Center Amphitheater, 450 Spartan Way.

This is the first of a five-week session that begins at 6:30 p.m.

A second basic dog obedience / canine good citizen classes are also planned from April 24 through May 22.

“Bond with your dog while teaching them basic commands, social skills, and work on problem behaviors,” said the City of Lathrop via social media.

Registration is now available at the Parks & Recreation Department (Lathrop City Hall, 390 Towne Centre Dr.), the Lathrop Community Center (15557 5th St.), and the Lathrop Generations Center.

Gymnastics

Vega’s Gymnastics has beginner and intermediate floor gymnastic classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Lathrop Senior Center, 15707 5th St.

“Register today to learn the skills to complete a forward roll, cartwheel, back walks over or improve your current skills,” said the city on the website.

Spring Break Camp

Spring Break Camp for local students ages 5 through 12 is scheduled for this week (March 10 through March 14) at the Lathrop Community Center, 15557 5th St., from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost is $180 per child.

“This week will be filled with themed active games, crafts, science experiments, food projects, and an on-site filed trip,” the City of Lathrop said.
