Carmen Salvatore, Jr., age 85, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, in Hughson, California. Born on July 13, 1940, in Newark, New Jersey, Carmen lived a life full of dedication,love, and laughter. For the past eight years, he was a resident of Manteca, California, having previously spent many wonderful years raising his family in San Jose.

Carmen spent his career working for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), where he was widely known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to his job. Outside of his professional life, Carmen was an avid sports enthusiast. He had a deep passion for playing golf, pickleball, pingpong, and bowling, and he thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the fields coaching youth baseball and soccer. Whether he was passionately cheering on his favorite San Francisco 49ers or spending a quiet afternoon working in the garden, he brought joy and energy to everything he did.

More than anything, Carmen loved his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, BrendaSalvatore, with whom he shared 53 beautiful years of marriage. He was an incredible father and grandfather who took immense pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow. Known for his quick wit and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Carmen made a lasting impression on everyone he met and will be deeply

missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony and Jim. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; his five children, Vincent (Campbell, CA), Carmie (Los Banos, CA), Vito (Modesto, CA), Zep (Las Vegas, NV), and Chris (Fredericksburg, VA); his seven cherished grandchildren, Danielle, Anthony, Giuseppe, Lucca- Natalia, Michael, Carmine, and Gino; and his three greatgrandchildren.

Services will be held at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA, Tuesday, June 23, 2026, with a viewing from 4:00- 6:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 6:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North St., Manteca, CA.,Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life for Carmen will be held immediately following mass at Chez Shari, 305 N. Union Rd., Manteca. Carmenwill be laid torest at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery.
