It was another Bikes for Kids Christmas Giveaway at the Paulsen Ranch.
The non-profit group organized by Pete Paulsen of Paulsen Motorsports provided 189 fix-me-up bikes to local youngsters of needy families.
“It went great,” said Paulsen, who is looking to add gently used toys to next year’s Bikes For Kids event.
Once again, he had cars parked outside his French Camp ranch, lined up along Bowman Road that morning.
In an effort to keep things operating in a timely matter, families, who were provided a number while waiting their turn – it was one bike per household – made their way to the pick-up area at the ranch, greeted by Paulsen and Santa, who came in from Modesto.
Those in attendance not only picked up a bike, but took photos with Santa and enjoyed cookies, candy canes and hot chocolate.
Paulsen was helped by an assortment of volunteers. Included were the Weston Ranch High Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp, West Coast Custom, and Anderson’s Mower & Bike, to name a few.
This was the fourth year for Bikes for Kids.
Paulsen, in addition, is looking to once again distribute free bikes to youngsters at Haven of Peace, the homeless shelter for mothers and the children.
