With wet weather in the forecast, the City of Ripon’s Water Conservation Ordinance prohibits the use of watering ornamental landscapes “during and 48 hours following measurable rainfall.”
Couple that to the city moving to a one-day a week watering schedule.
Public Works Director James Pease provided a reminder of the latter at last week’s Ripon City Council meeting.
He also announced the October water usage being up 11 percent from last year’s numbers.
The fall / winter watering-day schedule began this month and will run through the end of February.
All properties within the City of Ripon with an even-numbered address are only allowed to water on Saturday.
Properties with odd-numbered addresses can only water on Sundays.
No watering is allowed between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
