SJC deputy, carjacking suspects crash on Bypass

A San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office deputy and the three suspects they were pursuing were taken to the hospital on Monday after the pursuit culminated in a vehicle accident involving both vehicles in the area of the Highway 120 Bypass and Airport Way.

The deputy was ultimately released from the hospital Monday afternoon.

According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the three suspects were being pursued for suspected carjacking.

One firearm was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle during an investigation following the accident.

The deputy and the three suspects were taken to an area hospital as “a precaution” and all are expected to recover from any injuries sustained in the crash.
