Martha "Jean" Innerarity, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 17, 2026, in Manteca, California. She was 92 years old.
Jean was born on May 4, 1934, in North Carolina and made Manteca her home for the past 54 years. She shared an extraordinary 73 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Vernon "Gene" Innerarity, a beautiful life together centered around faith, family, and love.
Jean is survived by her husband, Gene; her three daughters, Sharan Silveira (Manuel), Karan Machado (Donald), and Penni Kern (Scott); and her eight grandchildren, Manuel Silveira Jr., Justin Silveira, Jessica Silveira, Donnie Machado (Samantha), Kayla Machado, Nick Kern, Eli Kern, and Olivia Kern. She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Marcus, Madelyn, Genevieve, Amelia, Derek, Dylan, and Devyn. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Berry. Jean was preceded in death by her three sisters, Katherine Hysler, Mildred Wilson, and Louise Mull.
A devoted homemaker family was always her greatest priority, and she had a natural way of putting the needs of others before her own. Loving, thoughtful, and genuinely concerned for those around her, Jean made sure the people she loved always knew just how important they were to her. Her faith was at the center of her life. Jean was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and remained grounded in her love for God. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, where she treasured many friendships. Jean had a heart for serving others and gave back to her community in many ways, including volunteering as a candy striper at Doctors Hospital of Manteca. She and her husband also dedicated many years to volunteering with the American Red Cross Disaster Relief, traveling throughout the United States to help communities in times of need.
Jean enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life beautiful. She loved needle point and gardening, appreciated a wonderful glass of wine, and certainly knew the value of a little "retail therapy." A true fashionista, Jean enjoyed shopping and had a wonderful sense of style. She loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful trips with her husband and friends, both throughout the United States and abroad. Above all, Jean will be remembered for her loving heart, her strong faith, and her devotion to her family.
