Three candidates are in the running for Ripon City Council.

But only two can be elected to the four-year terms in today’s elections.

Mayor Dean Uecker and Vice Mayor Mike Restuccia are both seeking to re-up.

Candidate Tamra Spade is looking to become more involved in the community.

She was recently hired as the Economic Development Manager in Ceres, having spent the previous 10 years as the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce in Ripon and Tracy.

Over the years, Spade has been involved on such boards as the San Joaquin County Workforce Development, Doctors Hospital of Manteca, Ripon Consolidated Fire District, Spring Creek Golf & Country Club, and Ripon High School Sober Graduation.

“I am running for council to be involved, have a voice and preserve the wonderful small, safe town we live in,” she said on social media.

Uecker and Restuccia ran unopposed four years ago, and were re-appointed to their posts.

Uecker – he’s the owner and operator of Farmers. Dean D. Uecker Agency – has the longest tenure on the Ripon City Council with 16 years.

“I strive to keep Ripon safe and control growth. Let’s keep Ripon ‘The Jewel of the Valley’ together,” he said.

Restuccia is the founder of Ripon First Responders Appreciation Day, held on the first Saturday in April.

He aligns himself with the vision of Ripon Police Officers’ Association in “keeping the safety of our city a top priority while maintaining the high level of service we’re proud to provide.”

He added: “This is a result of employing and retaining the best law enforcement personnel our profession has to offer – in doing so, we can continue to build on our existing relationships while nurturing future community partnerships.”
