Arlis Z. Reid, 90 of Manteca, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at his residence.  He was born on April 21, 1920.

Arlis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  During his life he worked as a butcher, a manager at Foster Freeze, and worked for BF Goodrich for 40 years where he retired.  Arlis was a good man who loved his family.  Music was a big part of his life and enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and playing the harmonica.  He was a terrific domino player.  He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Iva Reid, of Manteca; Daughter, Julia Scotto, of Antioch; son, Bennie J. Reid, of Washington State; daughter, Nina Cleveland, of Manteca; and 5 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held at Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca, on Sept. 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing prior to the service on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m.  Interment will be in Park View Mausoleum.
