Kenneth Edward Worthington, 73, entered into rest on September 12, 2010.  He was born on December 12, 1936 in New Jersey. He joins his parents in heaven, the late Mr. Roland and Mrs. Elizabeth Worthington and his first wife Elizabeth.

He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend for the past 10 years Laverne Worthington, his children; Sharron Volkoff of Manteca, Randell Worthington and wife Kathy of San Jose and Jim Woods of Oklahoma. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren; Jeannette Elizabeth Harris and husband Josh, Rocco De Benedicts life time partner Craig Rosen , Jacqueline Volkoff, Taralyn Tesik, Kendra Worthington , Clark Worthington, Jim Woods Jr. and  Jennifer Ellenburg; 7 great-grandchildren Sofia Harris, Samantha Harris, Eliza Rosen, McKenzie Tesik, Alexis Ellenburg, Ayden Ellenburg and Brant Woods. He was brother to Jerry Worthington and wife Shirley of Texas, Norma Aufferman and husband Walt of Oregon  and Mary Crittenden of Elk Grove. He leaves a host of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

 Kenneth, also known as Ken, was a superintendent for the carpenters union. He was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping and fishing and he especially loved his boat. Ken was at peace spending a weekend on the lake with his wife.  Ken would always look forward to any family gatherings. His children and grandchildren were the highlight of his life; he loved and treasured every moment he spent with them. He had enormous pride for his family, who till the last moments were in his every words. His golden heart stopped beating on earth but is now shining down on us from heaven. Ken will be remembered for his amazing personality and his easy-going way on life. He will be missed deeply.

Arrangement sfor Mr. Worthington are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at  P.L. Fry and Son.
