Sophomore guard Maddie Yonker torched Livingston for 28 points on Tuesday, leading host Ripon Christian to its first Trans Valley League win of the season, 43-34.
Yonker was hot at the outset, accounting for eight of the Knights’ 10 points in the first quarter. She made one 3-pointer and shot 3-of-4 from the free-throw line overall. Freshman center Reagan Van der Hoek contributed 10 points, and Kristen Van Elderen netted the rest with five.
Ripon Christian (1-1 TVL, 2-9 overall) trailed 24-23 at halftime. Clarissa Garcia scored 12 points to pace Livingston (0-2, 4-9). Marina Garibay and Isabella Zazueta each made two 3s and totaled eight points.
Escalon 41, Ripon 38
The visiting Cougars (2-1, 12-3-1) shot out to a 16-10 lead in the first quarter and held on for the pivotal TVL win.
Ripon, coming off a big win at Riverbank, was able to stay in it with improved defensive play the rest of the way but could not get the offense untracked. Kaylee Hutchinson tallied 12 points and eight rebounds for the Indians (2-1, 11-6), while Sierra Hollis collected 10 points and 11 rebounds. Ripon committed 22 turnovers.
Macie Vickers and Soleil Gouzenne paced Escalon with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Lathrop 54, Beyer 33
The difference was a 21-8 third-quarter burst for Lathrop (3-0, 13-4).
Sanah Sunner spearheaded the Spartans’ balanced scoring with 11 points. Kierstin Constantino contributed eight in limited action, and Godwina Ogbeide had seven. With three games this week, Lathrop took advantage of the opportunity to rest starters in the fourth quarter. Up next is Johansen on the road Thursday.

Riana Dela Cruz had a momentum-changing shot block and also led the Spartans with 15 points. Navi Kaur added 11 points and a block of her own, and Taimane Lowery chipped in 10 points
